LOU OBERNDORF
Chairman and CEO
Lou Oberndorf is a pioneer in medical technology leadership. As the founder of Medical Education Technologies Inc., (METI) in 2008, Mr. Oberndorf’s vision and execution delivered the first high-fidelity patient simulation technology. METI’s simulators are still present in more than 2000 institutions worldwide providing healthcare education.
In 2011, the Lou Oberndorf Lecture on Innovation in Healthcare Simulation was endowed at the International Meeting for Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH). He received the Pioneer in Healthcare Simulation award from the Society for Healthcare Simulation (SSH) in 2015.
As Chairman and CEO of Operative Experience, Lou leads a talented team that continually iterates and innovates healthcare simulation capabilities. He believes the OEI charge is “to challenge ourselves first to understand and then to build what the customer really needs – in the real world with all the constraints and decision points that occur there. We are not afraid to reach and harness the best people and the best technology to help our customers build better healthcare.”


JUSTIN WEITZENFELD
Senior Vice President Operations/CFO
Justin brings over 15 years of experience in accounting, finance, and investor relations. He was most recently Director of M&A Operations Integration at Relias Learning, a leading SAAS provider in eLearning, Justin was also Chief Financial Officer for Redilearning, an eLearning and training solution for senior living care providers.
PAUL BERNAL
VP Global Sales and Business Development
Paul Bernal serves as Vice President of Global Business Development for Government, Military and Latin America Sales. Paul’s focus is on the development of and execution of sales strategies, key account management, and partnerships and alliances.
With more than 14 years of medical simulation experience, Paul has been immersed in the healthcare simulation market with an emphasis on medical education and training, global sales, and global business development.
Prior to OEI, he held the positions of Global Military Sales and Business Development for CAE Healthcare. He also held positions at METI as a clinical educator and USAF sales manager. Paul is a U.S Veteran of 20 yrs., he served in combat while assigned to USAF Special Operations Command, and in Education and Training at the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine.

CARLOS MORENO
Senior Vice President/Chief Technology Officer
Carlos Moreno brings more than 30 years of innovation in technology leadership to OEI. He is a passionate and grounded leader who believes in leveraging advancing technology in the education space.
Mr. Moreno served as Chief Technology Officer at METI where he led the development of ECS, PediaSIM, iStan, and METIman among many other product lines during his twelve years with the healthcare learning company. Carlos also served as Vice President of Innovation, Engineering and Technology at CAE Healthcare. Prior to his experience in simulation technology, Carlos served at DirecTV and The NASDAQ Stock Market.
Mr. Moreno holds a Master’s of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics, a Master’s of Sciences in Microelectronics, and completed MIT’s Sloan Executive Management and Leadership Education program.
Mr. Moreno’s innovation is evident in the way he views the challenges of simulation teaching. “The goal was to establish a modern, very flexible and adaptable technology that can transform and can grow further based on applications that are built. It is truly a new way to teach.”
MARTIN CURRIE
Director of Marketing
As Director of Marketing, Martin oversees all marketing and communications for Operative Experience.
Martin brings over 15 years of experience in the medical simulation industry including senior marketing roles at Medical Education Technologies, Inc. (METI) and CAE Healthcare.
Martin has also led the marketing departments at video game publishers, Atari, Inc., and Acclaim Entertainment and held positions at various advertising agencies in New York City after graduating from West London University.
