We have just wrapped up the 26th Annual International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH 2026), which brought together over 4,000 healthcare simulation professionals at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. As the world’s largest and most prestigious conference dedicated to healthcare simulation learning, research, and scholarship, IMSH 2026 is an unparalleled gathering of educators, clinicians, researchers, and innovators united by a shared mission: advancing patient safety and healthcare education through simulation.
This year’s theme, “UNBOUND,” captured the limitless possibilities within the global healthcare simulation community. The conference featured over 250 educational opportunities spanning immersive courses, hands-on workshops, hot topics, research abstracts, panel discussions, and both poster and podium presentations.
With more than 700 sessions in various formats and an expansive exhibit hall showcasing cutting-edge technology from over 100 leading vendors, IMSH 2026 offers something for every simulation professional, from newcomers to seasoned veterans.
Highlights included inspiring keynote presentations featuring Tania Katan for the Opening Plenary Session – The Chad Epps Lecture. And Kevin Brown for the Lou Oberndorf Lecture on Innovation and Healthcare Simulation. Organized by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSIH), which boasts over 5,000 members worldwide, IMSH 2026 is more than a conference—it’s the essential convergence for simulation champions eager to push boundaries, foster interprofessional collaboration, and drive transformative change in healthcare education.
Highlights from the Operative Experience Booth
PCCS Pro Female
Among the groundbreaking innovations on display, Operative Experience showcased the PCCS Pro Female—a high-fidelity, prolonged casualty care simulator designed specifically for the female patient.

This revolutionary design instantly enables trainees to create a wide range of injury profiles—from polytrauma to non-trauma configurations—all in one simulator, delivering unparalleled versatility and realism for comprehensive trauma care education.
RealMom
Adding to their impressive lineup, Operative Experience demonstrated live birthing deliveries using the RealMom childbirth simulator—the world’s most realistic birthing simulator for mastering delivery procedures from normal deliveries to complications such as shoulder dystocia, breech, nuchal cord, and forceps and suction assist.
RealMom features the world’s only natural delivery technology with an active, soft tissue birth canal, and real-time dilation and fetal station, providing healthcare professionals with an unprecedented training experience that closely mirrors the complexity and unpredictability of actual childbirth scenarios.
C-Celia Emergency OB Suite
Finally, Operative Experience gave demonstrations of the world’s only fully-operative, hands-in-the-body, emergency OB learning suite, C-Celia, which includes the Emergency C-Section Simulator—a fully operative, hands-in-the-body simulator enabling full transverse or vertical emergency C-Section; the Emergency Hysterectomy Simulator—a hands-in-the-body simulator designed to provide training for postpartum and cesarean hysterectomy procedures; and the Postpartum Hemorrhage Control Simulator—for mastering hemorrhage control procedures, repair of complex lacerations and uterine artery injuries, and hemorrhage control techniques including B-Lynch suture, Hayman suture and O’Leary stitch.
