In late 2025, Operative Experience Inc. (OEI) identified a pressing and increasing need among their customers for cost-effective, high-quality medical simulators. In response, their team unveiled the answer to the market’s demands just a few months later. In March, OEI released the TCCS Tier 3 Pro trauma simulator, the first product of its kind in the industry. Here’s how OEI is making waves with their newest simulator:
1. A Comprehensive Training Tool
While ideating the TCCS Tier 3 Pro, OEI wanted to provide as much bang for their customers’ buck as possible and realized it all came down to Tier 3 of the Department of War’s Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) program. Instituted by the Department of Defense for all branches of the military, TCCC bolsters survival rates by equipping all service members with skills that directly address the most preventable combat deaths.
The four tiers of TCCC increase in skill and difficulty and build upon each other, with Tier 3 skills at the Combat Medic or Corpsman level.
OEI designed the TCCS Tier 3 Pro to ensure the simulator’s capabilities meet all Tier 3 skill requirements, meaning it can also be used to train students in Tier 1 and Tier 2 skills.
The choice to target Tier 3 makes the simulator extremely versatile and useful for a variety of training situations.
"I think there's an application for all service member training to use our simulators."
Jason Robbins, CMSgt (Ret.), USAF, and Vice President of Programs and Global Support.
2. Building Inclusion into Training
In 2024, OEI created the first realistic female medical simulator in the industry. Now, the TCCS Tier 3 Pro has been released with anatomically correct male and female versions, as well as three skin tone options—African American, Caucasian, and Hispanic.
With several options at cost-effective price points, more programs will be able to more effectively train students with increased nuance and fidelity regarding the unique needs and considerations of female and minority patients.
3. Providing More Value
OEI’s reputation for offering their customers superior products and customer service is a gold standard in the industry. The TCCS Tier 3 Pro builds on that history by offering a cost-effective product that mirrors the same excellence and attention to detail of the rest of their products. “We wanted to make sure that the durability and the training capabilities were not compromised,” said Renata Sutton, U.S. Air Force Business Development Manager.
By using a rugged frame suited to the physical demands of Tier 3 training scenarios, OEI was able to reduce costs without sacrificing its trademark performance and technology. Additionally, the team projects that the simulators will require less customer support as the product is a more physically robust option. Regardless, OEI offers the same peerless customer service to customers of all of its products, including the new simulator.
At the Speed of Innovation
Borne from market pressures, OEI has elevated what’s possible in the high-fidelity medical simulator industry. With an extremely short runway from ideation to production, the TCCS Tier 3 Pro is at the intersection of state-of-the-art technology, affordability, and versatility.
As these simulators roll off the production lines and into teaching laboratories, more students will receive high-quality training, translating directly into better patient care and outcomes. For OEI, that’s the true measure of success.
